Intapp Deal Pipeline Management
Intapp's deal and relationship management platform is built for advisory firms rather than adapted from a sales CRM, which means it models mandates, counterparties and relationships the way an advisory firm actually works. Like any system, it reflects what is put into it, and the maintenance is what makes the reporting worth running.
What this is used for
Holding the record of live and historic mandates, the counterparties involved, the relationships across the firm, and the pipeline reporting that comes off them. It is used where a generic CRM struggles: many-to-many relationships, long-running processes, and the need to see who across the firm knows whom.
The operational work inside it
- Deal and mandate records kept current as processes move
- Counterparty and sponsor records maintained, including portfolio mapping as holdings change
- Relationship data kept accurate, which is the thing the platform is most valuable for and the thing most likely to decay
- Pipeline maintenance: stages, dates and status updated as things happen
- Deliverable and document filing to the firm's conventions
- List building and segmentation for outreach and coverage
- Operational reporting produced off checked data
What good looks like
The pipeline in the system matches what the deal team believes. Relationship data is current enough that somebody can genuinely find out who at the firm knows a target. Reporting runs without a reconciliation exercise first.
Common problems
Relationship data left to decay. It is the platform's strongest feature and the easiest to neglect, because nobody notices until they need it.
Pipeline updated before a review rather than as things move. The review then reflects last month.
Portfolio maps going out of date. Sponsors buy and sell. A map that is a year old is actively misleading rather than merely incomplete.
Filing drift. Deliverables saved outside the agreed structure are invisible to everyone but the person who saved them.
How we work in it
We work in your instance, under access you grant and can revoke, to your conventions and your taxonomy. Deal Operations analysts are allocated to your firm, lists are never shared between clients, and nothing is copied out to be worked on elsewhere.
